Building ground up models vs importing data

I have my financial forecast built in Google Sheets that calculates projections based on certain assumptions. What are the pros and cons of building this ground up on Causal as opposed to simply importing the values to my model?

Hey Carina, data imports are a great way to bring in values to your model without bringing the underlying formula which is why they are primarily used for bringing in historical figures. The biggest con of making imports for future projections is that it would hinder you from using Causal optimally by preventing you to easily tweak the assumptions and formulas.
We’d suggest building those ground up in Causal. The build is going to be way easier than you think as Causal makes writing formulas as easy as writing plain English! You can check our template library and our docs to help you out with the process.
